Re: To have been or not to have been...
If Jesus is simply a man in every sense as you and I, except he is completely righteous (without sin), Simply a man?? SIMPLY a man???? Geez.... Here is a man - So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. 7You made him a little lower than...

Re: To have been or not to have been...
I doubt any BU accepts original sin - but you can check on the BU FB site. Set up a post - if possible with voting. Your question is a good question. Men don't "pre-exist" - even at the very concept my reaction is "WTH"????? We simply know what a man is - we are one... :) You are completely mixing a...

Re: To have been or not to have been...
TJ - I s/h added - I think that is reading WAY too much into the Rom text. There is no ontological sin in scripture. Calvin and Augustine did greatly error.

Re: To have been or not to have been...
Sin is not an ontological reference
Preexistence is.
Preexistence is.

Re: To have been or not to have been...
In fact, it's a technique used to shut down discussion. As to the inconsistency I pointed out in your actual arguments, you said nothing except to re-emphasize how Jesus is a man. I agree with that. But I'm not sure how you arrive at the conclusion that it's valid for you to qualify the type of man...

Re: To have been or not to have been...
TJ I addressed this issue here - Just to address your one issue - "All men have sinned" and how this relates to Jesus as a man. Again - this is a vain, silly point that leads to nothing. However, since there is an easy answer I will provide just this one time. You will note that the word "all" often...

Re: To have been or not to have been...
TJ I gave you a specific explanation to one of your issues. Do you acknowledge that? It is true - when scripture calls Jesus a man - I don't enter into vain disputation. I highly encourage a reading of 1, 2 Tim and Titus on the matter of vain disputation - and focus on "the end of the charge is love...

Re: To have been or not to have been...
TJ To clarify - I do believe your questions are totally genuine and sincere!! Please be assured of that. What I am trying to convey is that they are equally as vain and silly - despite your best intent and I know your intent is genuinely sincere. I am certain in my youth I may have gone in the same ...

Re: To have been or not to have been...
TJ While I appreciate your effort on the one hand - it is far to much an effort at "vain discussion" to nit-pick into these types of argumentation and contrary to the call of Christ. Paul called us away from these kind of vain discussions. We all know what a man is - why not simply accept the realit...
