Re: To have been or not to have been...

Thanks for your reply, Greg. Sin is not an ontological reference Preexistence is. I have to give a little pushback on this because we're not talking about individual sins, but rather the state of sinfulness , which is indeed an ontological reference as described at Romans 3. You and I--and all human...

Hi Greg!
Greg Logan wrote:TJ is a man. Greg is a man. Jesus is a man.

    2. Did you pre-exist? Did I? Did Jesus?
Please explain how the statement "Jesus is a man" allows a divergent answer for question #1, yet at the same time prohibits a divergent answer for question #2.

Re: To have been or not to have been...

Hi Greg, I gave you a specific explanation to one of your issues. Do you acknowledge that? You repeated what I had already said was your view. I had said, "I was sorry to read that you don't think my genuine questions are worthy of consideration." You then went on to explain that you do indeed think...

Re: To have been or not to have been...

Hi Greg,

I'm not sure how any of that really pertains to what I wrote. I've received essentially the same type of response from many Trinitarians, i.e. 'it's just so obvious it doesn't require explanation'. Thanks again for your participation.

Re: To have been or not to have been...

Hi Greg, As always, I appreciate your response. I was sorry to read that you don't think my genuine questions are worthy of consideration. (cf. Acts 17:2-3) But that is certainly your prerogative. We all know what a man is...Jesus is repeatedly declared to be a man... Just to address your one issue ...

Re: To have been or not to have been...

Hello Greg and thanks for your response. ...no man is a divine person of any sort. I take it from this that you mean also to say that no divine person could ever become an actual man, shedding himself of everything that makes him divine and being born a true flesh-and-blood human being, is that corr...

Re: Labels

Hi Greg,

If Petrine Christology is how you'd like to refer to your view, I can respect that. As for me, I'm still exploring how such scriptures require it.

Incidentally, I'm wondering what the phrase found at 1 Peter 1:20, "the foundation of the world", means to you.

Re: To have been or not to have been...

Hi Greg, Thanks for your response. This is very helpful for me to better understand your beliefs. I don't want to misuse words. Could you please clearly define what you believe the standard meaning of "man" is? Look in the mirror... :) A frightening proposition. But in all seriousness, I'm gue...

Re: Denial of Christ's Pre-Existence, or Socinianism

I despise the "Socinian" title - he was painfully late. How about Petrine? I can sympathize with the frustration over labels. In fact, throughout history most 'unorthodox' Christian groups were labeled in such a way as to marginalize them, typically naming them after a unique belief held by the gro...

Re: To have been or not to have been...

Thank you for your replies Greg. I apologize that it took several days for them to show up here; I think I have that fixed. I've read over your posts carefully a few times and have looked up your scripture citations. Below are a couple of questions I have. I tend to avoid interacting with with those...
