Re: To have been or not to have been...

TJ

With respect, I think our discussion has come to a close. I find no edification in it.

My wishes in your pursuit of the Creator in the only mediator between man and God - the man Christ Jesus - whom God has made Lord and Judge of all.

Best,

Re: To have been or not to have been...

You are confusing categories.

Man on earth = In the mirror

Man ascended = Glorified body.

Not sure why you do not get this very simple Biblical algorithm.

Re: To have been or not to have been...

Back to reality - when you are ready to work with the sandard meaning of words - the simple clear texts of scriptures - without foolish controversies - I would love to plunge in./

Re: To pre-exist or not to pre-exist...

TJ If you would read the scripture - it speaks of the MAN Christ Jesus in the PRESENT tense - both in I Cor15 in his glorified body - AND in ITim2:5. There IS one mediator - the MAN Christ Jesus. My friend - when you mess with the Word of God - you will get cut to shreds - it is sharper than any two...

Re: To have been or not to have been...

TJ That is simply a timing issue. Our focus is on men in their pre-glorified state - though one can ask about their glorified state but I have no interest in that since that is not my focus. The reality of course is that you don't believe a man is a man - because you believe a pre-incarnate divine b...

Re: To have been or not to have been...

TJ Admittedly, I had forgotten about this - but as I briefly reviewed, I see that you were working hard to avoid the simple standard meaning of words, e.g. "man" means "man". It seemed apparent to me that the reason that you were engaged in this behavior (and justifying it as a sort of "Academic inq...

Re: Denial of Christ's Pre-Existence, or Socinianism

TJ

I much more prefer the statement that we affirm the man Christ Jesus (not manhood per se because of the obvious confusion) - rather than reject Christ's pre-existence. Our focus is affirmative - not negative.

TJ Sorry to miss following up on your post - I obviously omitted checking the Reply box. re: Meaning of "20 προεγνωσμένου μὲν πρὸ καταβολῆς κόσμου, φανερωθέντος δὲ ἐπ’ [a]ἐσχάτου τῶν χρόνων δι’ ὑμᾶς I understand this as prior to the Gen 1 creation. Does that make sense? Jesus of Nazareth was "forekn...
